With 8 years of experience in the cycling touring industry, we have guided clients from around the world including Canada, the U.S., Australia, the Netherlands, Japan, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Italy, Slovakia, the U.K., Columbia, Brazil, and more. Our guides speak English, French, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda.
Lava Bike Tours offices are based in Musanze (Ruhengeri), Rwanda and Kisoro, Uganda. We offer several different options from day tours to multiple-day cycling packages, customized safaris, and Gorilla trekking for both Rwanda and Uganda.
Lava Bike also provides professional bicycle servicing and training on how to care for your bicycle, including E-bikes. We are certified by Team Africa Rising.
For the last 2 years, Lava Bikes has partnered with Ferwacy (Rwandan Cycling Federation) and GIZ to train new cycling tour guides and bicycle mechanics.
Safety
As part of our service provided to clients, our client’s safety is paramount. Bikes are serviced on a regular basis and all repairs are completed as required. Helmets are provided to all riders. A first aid kit is carried at all times and all guides are instructed on its use. A second guide is also provided on a ride where group size or group demographics require this to ensure the safety of all the riders. All rides commence with a safety briefing to the group. Through all of these undertakings, we strive to achieve an enjoyable and rewarding tour for all involved.
Mission
At Lava Bikes our primary mission is to ensure that you have an enjoyable, adventurous, and safe trip with us.
As Lava Bike Tours expands its operations, we aim to provide employment to local youth. With this, our employees are provided with training in all the necessary skills to provide a first-class experience for clients. They gain experience within the ever-growing tourism industry. They have the opportunity to enhance their communication skills, and most importantly, have access to an income by which to support both themselves and their families.
